Walking, Hiking & Mountainbiking (Östgöta Trail)
Where: Kinda
Travel time: –
Website: www.ostgotaleden.se

Östgötaleden provides 1400 km of walking trails throughout the county and is the most extensive trail network in Sweden. The nature in Östergötland is rich and varied. Numerous cultural remains, dating from the Stone Age to the present, bear witness of humanity’s long and interesting history in the area. Much of the history and nature of Östergötland can be seen in the many places of interest near the trail. The trail is marked by orange marked trees and orange posts.

Canoeing  You can also canoe at various places. The bigger the lake, the more difficult it is to canoe. The bigger lakes are more for the serious canoeists. Trips of more than one day are possible and can be discussed with the camping. If you only want to go out by canoe for a few hours or so, then the camping is a perfect place to start your journey. From the camping you can make trips from half an hour to a whole day. Canoes can be rented at the reception.

Boat At the camping you can hire boats without a motor (or with a motor on reservation). Especially when you go out fishing it is good to have a boat. Boats can be rented at the reception.

Kinda community/Östergötland is also a great place to be discovered by bike. There are various bike trials. At the reception of the camping or at the tourist office in Kisa you can buy a map with bike trails.

You can swim at many different places. Various lakes have a (little) beach. Our beach is a very child friendly beach. It’s a sand beach (in contrast with many beaches where the bottom consists of stones).

Fishing

Website: www.sagolikasommenbygd.se.

It’s not difficult to find a great place to fish in Sweden. Most lakes offer great opportunities for fishing. Our lake at the camping is also a great place to fish. You can catch pike (caught a lot here…), pikeperch, perch, red trout (röding), and other sorts. In the Sommen Lake (see above under ‘nature & culture’) you will find the best fishing water you can possibly find. Here you find a large variety of fish, including various sorts of trout and salmon.
